China's Investment and Debt Risks in Countries along the Belt and Road——2013-2022
The Belt and Road Initiative has led to significant growth in China's foreign trade and investment,but as the scope of the project expands,the problems and risks faced by investment entities have gradually increased.The review and analysis of the Belt and Road Initiative's trade,investment,and debt risks for the countries along the route over the period 2013-2022 reveals a complex development path:the BRI has been affected by such factors as domestic politics,economy,religion,nation,and race in the countries along the route,as well as by the pressure of competition and challenges from the international community.Through an in-depth study of the influencing factors and causes of investment and debt risks,this paper reveals the diversified risk characteristics faced by countries in the course of the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative,and these findings provide Chinese enterprises and government agencies with a deeper understanding of investment risks,which will help them take more effective risk prevention and response measures to ensure the sound development of investment projects.Reviewing and analyzing the investment and debt risks of the Belt and Road Initiative over the past decade,it provides an important reference for promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade and direct investment in the next phase of the BRI,which will help China better address the challenges in the future and realize sustainable investment and cooperation,so as to contribute to the continued success of the Belt and Road Initiative.
