Analysis on the Progress and Deepening Path of the Climate Smart Trade in Asia-Pacific Region
International trade is the main engine of economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region.While driving economic development in the region,it also affects the climate of the region.The impact of international trade on climate change in the Asia-Pacific region is complex.On the one hand,international trade increases greenhouse gas emissions through economic activities such as transportation.On the other hand,it may also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and stabilize the climate through international trading of environmental products and technologies.Therefore,climate smart trade which focuses on climate change and reduces greenhouse gas emissions,are increasingly receiving attention from the international community.At present,there has been made some progress in climate smart trade in the Asia-Pacific region,but it is still in its early stage.It is necessary to continuously deepen the development of climate smart trade in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting the liberalization and facilitation of trade in environmentally friendly products,improving carbon pricing mechanisms,actively utilizing climate smart non-tariff measures,and developing digital trade and transportation.
