Affected by factors such as the global economic recession and the global scientific and technological innovation brought about by the new industrial revolution,the economic and trade cooperation BRICS has taken on a new momentum.New impetus,new goals,and new models are needed.The new situation promotes the establishment of BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution.The partnership has formed cooperation topics focusing on the development of the BRICS digital economy,the cooperation for the industrial and supply chains,green transformation,and talent training.Building a platform for cooperation at all levels and in all aspects among the BRICS countries is the practical path of this partnership,which is fully consistent with the development trends for economic and trade cooperation among BRICS countries.China has played a leading role in the establishment of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution,but the other four countries are not enthusiastic enough to participate,which is a challenge facing the development of this partnership.This challenge is related to the obstacles in BRICS economic and trade cooperation:restrictions on multilateral scientific and technological cooperation among BRICS countries,obvious internal economic and trade competition among BRICS countries,and disturbed external environment of BRICS economic and trade cooperation.The BRICS countries should continue to put the implementation of the partnership into practice and properly handle the BRICS economic and trade competition,thus deepening the construction of this partnership.
