Research on the Construction of the"Land-Polar Silk Road"——Taking the Irtysh-Ob River Corridor for Transportation as an Example
With the reconstruction of the Irtysh-Ob River shipping route and the construction of the"Polar Silk Road",the construction of the"Land-Polar Silk Road"is facing a major historical opportunity. As an international shipping route that runs through the Eurasian continent and connects many countries along the"Land-Polar Silk Road",the Irtysh-Ob River shipping route has attracted the attention of relevant countries, and its international strategic value has become increasingly apparent.Based on the analysis of the importance of the construction of the"Land-Polar Silk Road"and the basis of the cooperation among countries in the Irtysh-Ob River basin and its important role in the"Land-Polar Silk Road",this paper puts forward feasible paths for the Irtysh-Ob River to support the construction of the"Land-Polar Silk Road",combining the hydrological characteristics, shipping conditions and the challenges faced by shipping reconstruction of the Irtysh-Ob River. The results show that the Irtysh-Ob River has a superior shipping location, favorable shipping conditions and certain transportation capacity, which will play a key role in supporting the construction of the"Land-Polar Silk Road"in both economic and political aspects.Being a crucial river in the land and sea transportation network connecting countries along the"Land-Polar Silk Road",the stakeholders need to rebuild the shipping route of the Irtysh-Ob River to strengthen cooperation among countries along the river, and form a joint development organization based on the principle of sustainable development and the concept of"synergy of social, economic and ecological effects".
