China is the largest developing country in the world,and developing country is a distinctive feature of China's national identity.China's status as a developing country has considerable factual and legal basis,which enables China to gain considerable political initiative,economic conditions,and strategic advantages in state-to-state interaction.After finishing building a moderately prosperous society in all respects in China,maintaining China's status as a developing country is facing new challenges.While the US and other Western countries deny China's status as a developing country,there are also voices of doubt from countries in the Global South,and the group of developing countries is facing new division and reorganization.We should attach great importance to this and deeply understand the complex characteristics of China's status as a developing country,and adopt multiple measures in politics,economy,diplomacy,propaganda,and other aspects to resolutely safeguard China's status as a developing country.
