Learning Community for Preschool Education Major in Higher Vocational Colleges:the Background,Connotations and Characteristics
There is an urgent need for qualified preschool education faculties who conform to the high-stan-dard requirements of"China's Education Modernization 2035"for innovative faculties in higher vocational colleg-es in China.The reformation and innovation of faculty in-service training should be strengthened.On the basis of the analysis of the particularity of preschool education major in higher vocational colleges in China and of the ac-tuality of faculty professional development,tracking the trend of faculty professional transformation and develop-ment of faculties both domestically and internationally,the necessity and urgency of building a professional learn-ing community for Preschool Education faculties in higher vocational colleges have been proposed.Drawing on the experience of theories of domestic and international communities and learning community,this article illus-trates the significance of professional learning community for preschool education faculties in higher vocational colleges,and summarizes its specificity in five aspects:self-organization,grass-roots,comprehensiveness,exten-siveness,and shareability.This study aims to remedy the shortcomings in current in-service development of pre-school education faculties in higher vocational colleges and provide an innovative path that can be referenced and replicated,in order to further achieve sustainable,high-quality,and lifelong development of faculties and provide ideas and enlightenment for constructing the professional learning community theory of preschool teachers in higher vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics.
