In this paper,SPSS19.0 software is used to analyze the questionnaire survey on the teaching de-sign ability of 267 ethnic primary English teachers in Jilin Province,and some representative teachers are inter-viewed.The results show that the teaching design ability of ethnic primary English teachers in Jilin Province is at a good level.Among them,teachers'teaching evaluation ability is the strongest;teaching strategy,teaching pro-cess ability is relatively weak;teaching design ability is not affected by the factors of teaching age,major,educa-tional background and professional title,but is affected by the region of the school,the professional reputation of the teachers and the training they have participated in during their service.
