A Practical Exploration of Situational Teaching Based on Geography Core Literacy—Taking the Example of"How to Stop the City From Watching the Sea"of the PEP High School Geography Textbook
The core literacy of geography refers to the essential character and key capability of students to solve problems by acquiring knowledge,skills,and attitudes in the study of geography,which has a comprehen-sive characteristic.Situational teaching is a teaching method based on practical situations,which can stimulate students'learning motivation and is an important carrier for cultivating core literacy.This paper explores the prac-tice of situational teaching based on the core literacy of geography.Taking the example of"How to Stop the City From Watching the Sea"in the PEP textbook,it analyzes how to introduce scenarios in classroom teaching,focus on the cultivation of geographical core literacy,how to carry out targeted classroom design,analyze and demon-strate the timeliness of teacher and student activities,and thus come up with effective strategies to improve stu-dents'geographical core literacy through situational teaching.
