Revisiting the Impact of Turbulence on Pitot Tube Calibration Through LDV Analysis
When the pitot tube is calibrated based on the laser Doppler tachometer, the turbulent flow near the probe will affect the calibration result. The experimental study is carried out in the low-speed section of the return flow wind tunnel. The results show that the flow field interference of the probe will affect the measurement of the ta-chometer,and the influence of different flow rates is negligible when the distance from the total pressure hole is more than 10mm.It can be seen that when calibrating, the best position of calibration should be from the upstream(10~20)mm of the total pressure hole.
