Analysis of the relationship between density and physical and mechanical properties of PVC-U drainage pipes
The density, tensile yield stress, fracture elongation, and drop hammer impact test indicators of 367 batches of PVC-U drainage pipes were tested according to GB/T 5636.1-2018 and statistically analyzed. It was found that as density increased, the failure of tensile yield stress occurred be-fore the failure of density, while the failure of fracture elongation and drop hammer impact test occurred after the failure of density. The principle and effect of setting density indicators for PVC-U drainage pipes were analyzed from the perspectives of practical application, theory, and standardization. It was regarded that the density index set in PVC-U pipe product standards lacked practical value, and should be can-celled.
