Literary rhythm is characterized by its integrity;its external rhythm is the language rhythm presented by the sound layer,and the internal rhythm is the inner tension of the article presented by the emotional layer and the art of composition layer.This article takes Lu Xun's non-verse works as examples to investigate the relationship and interaction between the internal and external rhythms of his literature.The external rhythm of Lu Xun's non-verse works is balanced and varied,with rich rhyme,rhyme harmony,an alternating level and oblique tonal pattern,and numerous strong figures of speech.The external rhythm is linked to the strong and profound emotion in Lu Xun's works.The perfect joy is written with harmonic rhyme and level tones;The depth of sadness is written with harmonic rhyme and oblique tones;The long sorrow is written out with the rhetorical device of Parallelism;The deep feeling is expressed with vowels and the device of Calling;And the great pain and intense anger are described at a great length using the superposition of Repetition and Parallelism.Lu Xun's non-verse works integrate the external rhythm with the internal rhythm into narrative time and space to promote plots,psychological description to characterize characters,positive and negative argumentation to strengthen the theme,and scene description to create atmosphere.
