This article introduces the experience of Professor Liu Bailing,a master of traditional Chinese medicine,in using the method of tonifying the kidney and removing blood stasis to treat knee osteoarthritis.Professor Liu Bailing advocates that"treating the kidney equates treating the bone"and believes that the onset of knee osteoarthritis is due to the root cause of liver and kidney deficiency,while blood stasis and obstruction feature its manifestations,and its affected organs include the liver and kidney.In terms of its treatment,he maintains that the main contradiction of the disease should be grasped,with tonifying the kidney and strengthening the bones as the main measures,and removing blood stasis and unblocking the collaterals as the auxiliary measures,and the method of tonifying the kidney and removing blood stasis running through the entire treatment course.In clinical practice,he often applies the modified No.1 Knee Pain,good at using squid bone,rattan and insect drugs,treating both its root cause and its manifestations,having a significant clinical effect.
