Exploration on the effect of Huayu Mingmu Yin on diabetic cataract patients and its mechanism on the macular retinal thickness changes
Objective To explore the effects of Huayu Mingmu Yin on the clinical efficacy, macular retinal thickness and adverse reactions in patients with diabetic cataract(DC).Methods A total of 180 diabetic cataract patients admitted to our hospital from July 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects, and were divided into an observation group and a control group by a random number table method, with 90 cases in each group. The control group was given eye injections of Conbercept for 3 months, while the observation group was treated with Huayu Mingmu Yin combined with Conbercept for 3 months as well. The clinical efficacy and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups, and the changes of macular retinal thickness, total macular volume, intraocular pressure, visual acuity and laboratory indexes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the clinical efficacy of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the retinal thickness in the fovea, the peripheral retinal thickness and the total volume of macula were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the intraocular pressure and visual acuity were increased in both groups, and the observation group was higher(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and interleukin-6(IL-6)were decreased in both groups, and the levels of the two indexes were much lower in the observation group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was much lower in the observation group after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Huayu Mingmu Yin can improve the macular retinal thickness and angiogenesis, improve vision and alleviate inflammation in DC patients, thereby enhancing the clinical efficacy and providing an important reference for the subsequent treatment of DM patients.
