Chronic prostatitis is a common and frequently-occurring disease in clinic.The disease is located in the essence chamber,and its onset and development are inseparable from heat pathogen,which is also combined with dampness,blood stasis,liver depression and qi stagnation,and so on.There are four references to"heat invading blood chamber"in Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases,while the blood chamber described in those articles is not unique to the uterus of women,but also includes the liver,thoroughfare vessel and men's semen chamber.Therefore,"heat invading blood chamber"can be transformed into"heat invading essence chamber",which can explain the occurrence of chronic prostatitis and guide its treatment.Qimen point(Liv14)belongs to the liver channel,which is directly connected with the essence chamber.Administering acupuncture at qimen point can disperse the stagnated liver qi and relieve heat,achieving a targeted therapeutic effect on chronic prostatitis.This treatment should pay attention to disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation,reasonable selection of meridians and points,needling manipulations,the comprehensive use of pricking blood,clasping acupuncture,cupping and other means,and should be combined with oral Chinese medicines to effectively improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
