Application of Ningpo yam rhizome and Tripterygium wilfordii in the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis based on the strategy of determining dosage according to syndromes
Deciding dosage according to a certain drug can be referred to as the dose-effect relationship related to drugs, which constitutes one of the core contents of determining dosage based on syndromes. This article elaborates on the application of the strategy by presenting the examples of Ningpo yam rhizome and Tripterygium wilfordii in the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, based on a case by Academician Tong Xiaolin. The strategy can be generalized as the following three aspects:Toxic drugs can be used after compatibility, and their dosage can be appropriately increased.According to patients'reactions after taking medicine, closely monitor their symptom targets and biochemical indicator targets, and adjust drug dosages.Determine the"dosage threshold"and"treatment window"based on the changes in the disease and its syndrome group, and figure out the optimal dosage.
