Clinical application of solid lollipop combined with acupoint application in children with allergic cough
Objective To study the effect of Chinese herbal ointment solid lollipop combined with acupoint application in the treatment of allergic cough in children.Methods A total of 76 children with allergic cough who were treated in the pediatrics department of Yancheng Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from March 2020 to March 2023 were randomly divided into an experimental group(n=38)and a control group(n=38)according to the random number table method.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,while the experimental group was treated with solid lollipop combined with acupoint application on the basis of the control group.The clinical efficacy of the two groups after 4 weeks of treatment,their clinical symptom scores,blood routine indicators[C-reactive protein(CRP),white blood cell count(WBC)]before and after 4 weeks of treatment were compared,and their adverse reactions during the treatment period and the number of children with allergic cough recurrence during the six-month follow-up period were calculated.Results After 4 weeks of treatment,the clinical efficacy of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),the clinical symptom score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the levels of WBC and CRP in the experimental group were lower than those in the conventional group(P<0.05),yet there was no statistically significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05),and the frequency of allergic cough recurrence in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group during the six-month follow-up period(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of pediatric allergic cough,traditional Chinese medicine ointment solid lollipop combined with acupoint application can improve the therapeutic effect,reduce clinical symptom scores,alleviate inflammatory reactions,which has a higher safety,and can reduce the recurrence times of allergic cough.
