Professor Xie Jingri's experience in the differentiation and treatment of epigastric pain syndrome based on the theory of comprehensive analysis of tongue manifestations and pulse manifestations
Epigastric pain syndrome is a functional gastrointestinal disease caused by the spleen deficiency and qi stagnation,and the failure of stomach qi to descend.Professor Xie Jingri holds that it should be differentiated and treated based on the tongue and pulse manifestations,and on the liver and spleen syndromes,involving five specific syndromes:indigestion of water and food,disharmony between the liver and stomach,dampness-heat of the spleen and stomach,blood stasis and stagnation,deficiency of the spleen and stomach.He treats these syndromes with Baohe Pill,Chaihu Shugan Powder,Lianpo Yin,Shixiao Decoction and Danshen Decoction,Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction or Shaoyao Gancao Decoction and other prescriptions,either alone or in combination,obtaining a remarkable curative effect.A case is attached in this paper as supporting evidence.
