Analysis of the effects of Qingre Yuyang decoction on intestinal flora disturbance and inflammation improvement in patients with ulcerative colitis
Objective To explore the effect of Qingre Yuyang decoction in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, and analyze the influences of the prescription on the intestinal microbiota and inflammatory factors of patients. Methods A total of 100 patients with ulcerative colitis admitted to the Department of Anorectal Surgery,Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to September 2022 were selected, and divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with a conventional therapy, while the observation group was treated with Qingre Yuyang decoction enema on the basis of the conventional treatment. The clinical efficacy, the levels of intestinal microbiota and inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1),interleukin-10(IL-10)],the TCM syndrome scores,Baron endoscopy scores,Mayo scores before and after treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group(46 cases/50 cases,92.00%)was significantly improved compared to that of the control group(41 cases/50 cases,82.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, the levels of bifidobacterium in the two groups were increased, while the levels of lactobacillus, enterobacteriaceae, and enterococcus were decreased. The level of bifidobacterium was increased significantly in the observation group compared with that in the control group, while the levels of lactobacillus, enterobacteriaceae, and enterococcus were decreased significantly, all with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, the levels of TNF-α and MCP-1 were decreased in both groups while the level of IL-10 was increased, and the decrease and increase in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores,Baron endoscopy scores, and Mayo scores were all decreased in the two groups compared with before treatment, and the observation group showed a significant decrease, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group(1 case/50 cases,2.00%)was significantly reduced compared to that of the control group(7 cases/50 cases,14.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Qingre Yuyang decoction has a good effect in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, which can regulate the intestinal flora disorder of patients, reduce inflammatory responses, and has a better safety, worthy of a clinical promotion and application.
