Study on the correlation between dried tangerine peel volatile components in Liujunzi decoction and regulation of gastrointestinal motility
Objective From the perspective of regulating gastric motility,to analyze the qi-regulating effect of volatile components in dried tangerine peel,a qi-regulating drug,in the qi-tonifying formula Liujunzi decoction,to compare the effects of different-aged dried tangerine peel volatile components on gastric emptying and small intestine propulsion in rats with spleen deficiency, and then to explore the association between dried tangerine peel volatile oil and gastrointestinal motility regulation in rats with spleen deficiency. Methods The finger prints of volatile oil in 15 batches of dried tangerine peel from different origins and years were established by GC.The effect of volatile components in dried tangerine peel on improving gastrointestinal motility was evaluated by using gastric emptying and small intestine propulsion as indicators. Finally, partial least square regression analysis and gray scale analysis were used to analyze the correlation between their finger prints and the regulation of gastrointestinal motility in rats with spleen deficiency. Results The volatile components of 15 batches of dried tangerine peel could promote gastric emptying and small intestine propulsion, and their gain intensity in Liujunzi decoction was best for those with 5 or 10 years. In the GC chromatograms of volatile components of 15 batches of different-aging years, the myrcene(peak 3),D-limonene(peak 4),and peak 9 were the potential medicinal components that improved gastrointestinal motility. Conclusion Volatile oil in the qi-regulating dried tangerine peel volatile components in Liujunzi decoction have the synergistic effect of regulating and replenishing qi through the regulation of gastric motility in rats with spleen deficiency, which is the result of multiple active components. This study preliminarily reveals the relationship between the qi-regulating effect of volatile components in dried tangerine peel in Liujunzi decoction and the stomach motility regulation in rats with spleen deficiency, providing a new idea for exploring the material basis of qi-regulating effect of dried tangerine peel in Liujunzi decoction.
