Effects of acupuncture on the clinical symptoms and inflammatory indicators in patients with pulmonary infection
Objective To observe the effects of acupuncture treatment at points for invigorating spleen, benefiting lung, and dissipating phlegm on the TCM syndrome scores, the levels of MLR,NLR,CRP,and D-dimer in patients with pulmonary infection. Methods A total of 60 patients with pulmonary infection were divided into two groups using the random number table method. The control group(n=30)received a conventional western medicine treatment, while the observation group(n=30)received an acupuncture treatment at acupoints for invigorating spleen, benefiting lung, and dissipating phlegm, both for 7 days. The changes in the TCM syndrome scores, the levels of MLR,NLR,CRP,and D-dimer before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores and the levels of MLR,NLR,and CRP were lower in both groups than before treatment(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of D-dimer were lower in both groups than before treatment, yet there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of patients with pulmonary infection, the acupuncture therapy at points for invigorating spleen, benefiting lung, and dissipating phlegm can alleviate clinical symptoms, reduce inflammatory reactions, increase cure rate, improve prognosis, and enhance clinical efficacy.
