Clinical effect of acupuncture and moxibustion for dispersing stagnated liver qi,nourishing blood and moistening eyes in the treatment of primary glaucoma
Objective To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture and moxibustion for dispersing stagnated liver qi,nourishing blood and moistening eyes in the treatment of patients with primary glaucoma. Methods A total of 86 primary glaucoma patients admitted to the Meishan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2018 to December 2022 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group, with 43 cases in each. The control group received a conventional treatment, while the observation group was treated with acupuncture and moxibustion for dispersing stagnated liver qi,nourishing blood and moistening eyes on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, subjective symptom scores, intraocular pressure and visual function, eye blood flow parameters[arterial peak systolic blood flow velocity(PSV),end-diastolic blood flow velocity(EDV),resistance index(RI)in the central retinal artery(CRA)and posterior ciliary artery(PCA)]and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results The efficacy of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the subjective symptom scores were decreased in both groups(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the intraocular pressure, eyesight, visual acuity and average loss of visual field were improved in the two groups(P<0.05),and the observation group was better than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the PSV and EDV of CRA and PCA in the observation group were higher than those in the same group before treatment and the control group, while the RI was lower than those in the same group before treatment and the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the PSV of CRA and PCA in the control group was higher than that before treatment in the same group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion for dispersing stagnated liver qi,nourishing blood and moistening eyes has a significant effect in the treatment of primary glaucoma, which can effectively improve the visual function of patients, improve the blood circulation of the eyes, and has a high safety.
