Characteristics of differentiating and treating apoplectic diseases by Wu Chu
This paper discusses the characteristics of Wu Chu's treatment of apoplectic diseases by summarizing and analyzing his works of Baoming Zhenquan,Wu's Medical Records and other related literature.Wu Chu advocates that apoplectic diseases should be divided into two categories:apoplexy and parapoplexy. He believes that wind affection due to internal deficiency is the basic pathogenesis of apoplexy, advocating differentiating the disease from three aspects:zang viscera or fu viscera, blood or vessels, with a blocking syndrome or with a apoplectic collapse, and treating it with three methods:diaphoresis, purgation, nourishing blood and promoting qi circulation. For the treatment of parapoplexy,Wu Chu believes that its basic pathogenesis features the deficiency of kidney yang and the internal movement of phlegm fire, advocating the use of eight-factor method to differentiate it,and paying attention to the use of removing phlegm and amassment, and tonifying deficiency with sweet and warm herbs.
