Diabetic nephropathy is one of the intractable complications of diabetes,whose occurrence and development is the process of chronic qi depletion and yin injury,phlegm dampness,internal heat,qi stagnation and blood stasis cementing with each other,accumulating in the kidney collaterals and vessels,and gradually forming masses.Due to its core pathogenesis of"miniature masses in the renal collaterals","resolving blood stasis and eliminating masses"should be given a priority for its treatment.Rattan drugs have the characteristics of stretching and spreading,which can enter the kidney collaterals,be good at expelling wind pathogen,invigorating and nourishing deficient collaterals,promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis.They are clinically applied in combination with other herbs,which can expand the ideas in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy of traditional Chinese medicine.
