Application of largehead atractylodes rhizome in the treatment of the greasy and rotten tongue fur based on the strategy of determining dosage according to syndromes
Tongue diagnosis is an important basis for clinical guidance of syndrome differentiation and curative effect evaluation of Chinese medicine.The greasiness and rot degree of tongue fur is an external manifestation of the increase or decrease of dampness and turbidity in the body,which can be used as an indication for adjusting the dosage of prescription drugs.By sharing one case of Tong Xiaolin's treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with the syndrome of spleen deficiency,dampness obstruction complicated by blood stasis,this paper discusses the application of the dosage-determining strategy of largehead atractylodes rhizome in the treatment of greasy and rotten tongue coating.In this case,Professor Tong Xiaolin flexibly adjusted the dosage of largehead atractylodes rhizome according to the changes in the degree of greasiness and rot of the patient's tongue fur,applying the strategy of determining dosage according to syndromes,i.e.,"treating severe diseases with high dose while treating mild diseases with low dose",and"ceasing medication or reducing dosage once a prescription taking effect".
