A case report of the differentiation and treatment of Parkinson's disease with excessive daytime sleepiness by Professor Tong Xiaolin
Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by motor symptoms such as rigidity, bradykinesia, and static tremors,as well as non-motor symptoms such as constipation, cognitive, emotional, and sleep disorders.Parkinson's disease belongs to the category of"tremor syndrome"in traditional Chinese medicine.Academician Tong Xiaolin combined the theories of"sijiao and eight-systems"and"state-target differentiation and treatment"to treat a case of Parkinson's disease with excessive daytime sleepiness. He proposed that tremor syndrome is a marrow system disease in dingjiao. In this case, deficiency state and aging state constitute its root causes, with phlegm turbidity and blood stasis as its manifestations. He treated the disease with modified Dihuang Yinzi as the"state formula"and modified Erxian Decoction as the"target formula",achieving a good clinical efficacy. This case provides a new diagnostic and therapeutic approach for the clinical treatment of Parkinson's disease with drowsiness.
