Clinical study on the efficacy of Compound Congrong Yizhi Capsules in the treatment of mild to moderate vascular dementia
Objective To investigate the efficacy of Compound Congrong Yizhi Capsules in the treatment of mild-moderate vascular dementia and its effects on various indexes of patients with the disease.Methods A total of 140 patients with mild to moderate vascular dementia admitted to our hospital from September 2022 to May 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group,with 70 cases in each group.The control group was given injections of ginkgo leaf extract,while the treatment group was added with Compound Congrong Yizhi Capsules on the basis of the control group.The efficacy,cognitive function,neurological function,mental and behavioral symptoms,hemorheology,hemodynamics,stress response indexes,serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9),and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group after 6 months of treatment(P<0.05).After 6 months of treatment,the scores of MMSE,the mean blood flow velocities of the anterior and middle cerebral arteries,and the levels of serum SOD,VEGF,and BDNF in the two groups were elevated compared with those before treatment,and the treatment group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).After 6 months of treatment,the scores of NIHSS and NPI-Q,the levels of whole blood low-cut,high-cut,plasma viscosity,and serum MDA,Caspase-12,CRP78,MMP-9,MMP-2 were lower in both groups than those before treatment,and the treatment group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group after 6 months of treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Compound Congrong Yizhi Capsules is more effective and much safer for patients with mild to moderate vascular dementia.
