Manipulations for soothing tendons and nourishing essence combined with ointment membrane of Chinese medicine in the treatment of pain in knee osteoarthritis
Objective To explore the clinical application of manipulations for"soothing tendons and nourishing essence"combined with ointment membrane of Chinese medicine in the treatment of pain in knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods A total of 84 patients with knee osteoarthritis admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the study subjects,and they were divided into a study group and a control group according to a random number table method,with 42 cases in each group.The study group was treated with manipulations for"soothing tendons and nourishing essence"combined with ointment membrane of Chinese medicine,while the control group was treated with celeoxib capsules orally.The pain level,joint function and serum levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β),C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the pain thresholds of the medial,lateral and central points of the knee joint were higher in the study group than those in the control group,and the scores of the short-form McGill pain questionnaire(SF-MPQ)were lower than those before treatment and in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the knee injury and osteoarthritis scores(KOOS)were higher in the study group than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the serum levels of IL-1β,TNF-α and CRP were lower in the study group than those before treatment and in the control group(P<0.05).The effective rate of KOA patients in the study group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Manipulations for"soothing tendons and nourishing essence"combined with ointment membrane of Chinese medicine can effectively relieve pain symptoms in KOA patients,reduce joint inflammatory reactions,improve joint function in KOA patients,and improve clinical treatment effect.
