Research progress of Fumai-based prescriptions in the treatment of heart system diseases
The theory of warm diseases has a long history and profound influence. Its academic principles not only guide the treatment of exogenous diseases but also play a significant role in the clinical treatment of heart system diseases.Wenbing Tiaobian(Detailed Analysis of Epidemic Warm Diseases),created by Wu Jutong in the Qing Dynasty, recorded several modified prescriptions under the category of Fumai generation formulas, such as modified Fumai Decoction,Yijia Fumai Decoction,Erjia Fumai Decoction,Sanjia Fumai Decoction, and Da Dingfeng Zhu.Although these Fumai-based prescriptions are commonly used to treat the syndrome of yin deficiency of both the liver and kidney in the late stage of warm diseases, they are also effective in treating arrhythmia, heart failure, hypertension, and other heart system diseases due to their effects of nourishing yin for suppressing hyperactive yang, warming yang and benefiting qi,and regulating yin and yang. This article systematically reviews the origins and development of Fumai-based prescriptions and their clinical research progress in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It also interprets these prescriptions from a pharmacological perspective, extracting their clinical experiences and achievements, aiming to further explore the advantages of Fumai-based prescriptions in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and provide a solid theoretical basis for the clinical practice in the treatment of heart system diseases.
