Conventional acupuncture is most commonly used in the clinical treatment of peripheral facial palsy.With the continuous deepening of the research on the treatment of the disease,acupuncture methods in this regard needs more in-depth research as well.It is proposed that acupuncture methods with a mild stimulation such as shallow needling and half needling can be used in the acute stage of peripheral facial palsy,while acupuncture methods with an intense stimulation and targeted treatment for facial palsy symptoms such as penetration needling and triple needling can be used in its recovery and sequelae stages.In this paper,the literature on the treatment of peripheral facial palsy using different techniques of filiform needle acupuncture is reviewed,hoping to provide a reference for its future clinical application in the treatment of peripheral facial palsy.
