"The heart dominating the exterior"refers to the fact that the heart features a yang organ,with the quality of fire,and with heart energy distributing on the surface of the body to moisten and nourish the skin and hair.Moreover,the idea highlights the commanding role of the heart in activating the physiological function of the skin.While the concept of"the kidney governing the interior"refers to the important auxiliary role of the kidney as minister guarding the interior under the monarch.The heart and the kidney play an important role in the generation of blood and mind,while the functions of the blood,mind and skin are controlled by the heart.Combining the two ideas,this study explores the treatment of vitiligo from the multiple perspectives of heart spirit,heart fire,blood circulation and kidney essence.The paper proposes that the disease be treated by warming the heart yang and tonifying the kidney essence to supplement blood,by clearing the heart fire and calming the mind,bridging the heart and kidney to calm the mind and promote blood circulation,to moisten and nourish the muscles and skins,and by expelling pathogens as well.It is hoped that the study can provide new ideas for the treatment of vitiligo from the perspective of the heart and the kidney.
