Clinical observation on the treatment of lumbar facet osteoarthritis with Tongyang Jianyao Formula
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Tongyang Jianyao Formula in the treatment of lumbar facet osteoarthritis.Methods A total of 96 patients with lumbar facet osteoarthritis were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number grouping method.The control group received a conventional western medicine treatment,while the observation group received a combined treatment with Tongyang Jianyao Formula on the basis of the routine clinical treatment.The scores of the liver and kidney deficiency syndrome,the scores of Visual Analog Scale(VAS),Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA),Oswestry Dysfunction Index(ODI),the lumbar functional activity,and the improvement of serum C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)were observed before and after 2 weeks of treatment in the two groups,the total effective rate was calculated in the two groups,and the safety of treatment was evaluated in both groups.Results The scores of the liver and kidney deficiency syndrome,the VAS scores,the ODI scores,the serum levels of CRP,IL-6,and TNF-α were lower in the observation group than those in the control group after treatment(P<0.05),while the JOA scores,the lumbar flexion,extension,left flexion,and right flexion were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group(93.75%,45/48)was higher than that in the control group(79.17%,38/48).No significant adverse drug reactions occurred in either group.Conclusion The application of Tongyang Jianyao Formula can inhibit inflammatory responses in patients with lumbar facet osteoarthritis,improve lumbar spine mobility,help alleviate pain symptoms,and promote the recovery of lumbar spine function.
