Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the combined treatment of cancer pain. Methods A total of 120 patients with cancer pain were selected from those accepting treatment in the Internal Medicine Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine and the Department of Oncology of the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine from October 2021 to October 2023.They were randomly divided into a control group,a traditional Chinese medicine group,a moisten compress group, and a traditional Chinese medicine+moisten compress group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release tablets, and the experimental groups were treated with corresponding methods in addition to the medicine of the control group, respectively. The clinical efficacy was compared among the groups. Results No significant difference was found in general data among different groups. There were significant differences in NRS and KPS scores among the four groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).The effective rate of the traditional Chinese medicine+moisten compress group was better than the other three groups, showing a difference of statistically significance(P<0.05),while with a lower adverse reaction rate and higher treatment satisfaction, showing a difference of statistically significance(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of cancer pain, the combined therapy of traditional Chinese medicine with moisten compress therapy can achieve a more satisfactory curative effect, significantly improving the life quality of patients, and having fewer side-effects,which is worthy of promotion clinically.
