Forming Characteristics of CMT Additive Single-pass Straight Wall of DP980 Dual Phase Steel
The work aims to study the forming characteristics of single-pass straight wall of DP980 dual phase steel under different process parameters.The ER120S-G wire with a diameter of 1.0 mm was used,the Q235 steel plate was selected as the substrate,and the cold metal transition(CMT)additive technology was employed as a base and then the additive experiments on DP980 duplex steel were conducted by Fronius CMT welder.Besides,the reinforcement,melting width,forming heights and forming widths of the cross sections of additive specimens were measured and analyzed.For the single-pass monolayer additive specimen,as the wire feeding speed gradually increased from 2.5 m/min to 8.0 m/min,the melting width and reinforcement both tended to increase,and the variation of melting width was larger.When the welding speed gradually increased from 300 mm/min to 700 mm/min,the melting width and reinforcement of the weld channel showed a decreasing trend.For the multilayer sin-gle-pass additive specimen,other parameters were fixed.Under the reciprocating additive path,the wall was formed uniformly and straight,and the sizes at both ends were similar,which were 4.7 cm and 4.6 cm,respectively.When the other parameters were fixed and the wire feeding speed and interlayer temperature increased,the forming width and height of the additive straight wall specimen increased.When the welding speed increased,the forming width and height of the additive straight wall specimen decreased.In the monolayer single-pass additive manufacturing process,the melting width and reinforcement can be effectively controlled by adjusting the parameters of wire feeding speed and welding speed,so as to ensure the forming quality of the addi-tive specimen.Reciprocating additive paths enable more stable forming of single-pass multilayer additive straight wall.The forming width and height of single-pass multilayer additive specimens are mainly affected by the wire feeding speed,welding speed and interlayer temperature.The fabrication of DP980 dual phase steel can be achieved by the CMT additive manufactur-ing process,with good forming quality.
