The folk belief and custom culture of Mazu in Fujian and Taiwan has a profound origin,which is the common historical and cultural memory of Fujian and Taiwan.It contains the special emotion,psychological comfort and spiritual suste-nance between the two places,and profoundly affects the daily life and behavior of the people there.Since the reform and open-ing up,the social and cultural exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan have become increasingly frequent,thereby promoting Ma-zu culture exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan,forming the Mazu Model of cross-strait exchanges,contributing to the inte-gration of Mazu culture between Fujian and Taiwan,and making a a special historical memory of the two places.At present,Mazu culture has become an important link between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits,and is also an important content of the integration of Fujian and Taiwan folk culture.It has contemporary values in strengthening Taiwan people's cultural identification,exploring a new integration model,promoting Taiwan's integration into Chinese modernization,building a spiritual home,and promoting the overseas dissemination of Mazu culture.
