Effects of Cementing Solution Concentration on Strength and Deformation Characteristics of Expansive Soil Treated with Soybean Induced Calcium Carbonate Precipiation
Improving expansive soil with calcium carbonate(SICP)promoted by soybean powder leaching solution is a simple and environment-friendly soil technology. This paper makes an explorato-ry study on improving expansive soil with SICP.The effects of different cementing fluid concentrations on the strength and deformation characteristics of SICP-improved expansive soil were studied by indoor direct shear test, unconfined compressive strength test and compression test.It is found that the shear strength, cohesion, internal friction angle and unconfined compressive strength of improved expansive soil first increase and then decrease with the increase of cementing solution concentration, and the com-pressibility of improved soil first decreases and then increases with the increase of cementing solution concentration. When the concentration of cementing solution is 1mol/L,the improved expansive soil has the best performance, the largest shear strength, the largest unconfined compressive strength,an in-crease of 64%and the smallest compressibility.
