Calculation of Cable Tension in Logging Operations
In oil exploration and development, logging operations are a crucial technical activity, and cable wellhead tension,as an important parameter in the logging process,is an important indicator for judging the safety of logging operations. The minimum curvature method was used to interpolate the wellbore trajectory and construct three-dimensional curves of the cable at different depths of the well.Using a soft rod model,a force analysis was conducted on the micro segment cable, and a calculation process for cable wellhead tension was proposed. The research results indicate that for both upward and downward working conditions, the wellhead tension of logging cables increases with the increase of well depth, and the upward tension is much greater than the downward tension. The tension calculation re-sults were compared with foreign Cerberus software and measured data, verifying the feasibility of the calculation method. The research results provide technical support for the development of professional software in China's logging industry.
