Shady-Sun Slope Effect and Seismic Response of Widened Highway Embankments in Permafrost Areas
In order to study the differences in the shady-sun slope effects and seismic responses of widened permafrost embankments, considering the Qinghai-Tibet region as the background of the study, the influence of boundary conditions such as temperature changes, solar radiation, wind speed, and convective heat transfer on the temperature field of permafrost embankments was comprehensively considered.A finite element model was established, and the temperature field changes before and after widening of the embankment were analyzed using the finite element analysis software Abaqus.By the result of embankment temperature fields for each month, the embankment model was divided into re-gions and filled with materials, and the acceleration response and displacement response of the embank-ment under seismic loads were analyzed. The results show that under the condition of not considering the influence of embankment widening materials and embankment jointing methods on the embankment widening, compared with the original embankment, the widened embankment did not amplify the Yin and Yang slope effects of the embankment, and the shady-sun slope effects did not influence the differ-ences in seismic response.
