The Effect of Jacketing on the Formation of Ice Plugs in Pipelines in Nuclear Power Plants
The article establishes three jacket models and explores their effects on ice blockage for-mation by changing liquid nitrogen flow rate, ambient temperature, etc.,and calculates the consump-tion of liquid nitrogen. The finite element analysis software Fluent was used to simulate the formation time of pipeline ice blockage,as well as the corresponding temperature field and ice formation mode dia-gram.Based on the above results,it is analyzed that the influence of environmental temperature on the formation time of ice plugs is 2%-3%.The type of jacket has a significant impact on the formation of ice plugs. At low liquid nitrogen flow rates, the maximum can reach 17.78%,and a single in single out type jacket should be selected.
