In order to solve the problem of extracting bulging disease information from the ancient city walls of Shouxian,ground laser scanning technology(TLS)and Geomagic Studio software process-ing methods were used.TLS technology measures distance by emitting and receiving laser beams,re-cords angles during laser excitation,generates a large dataset of spatial points,forms detailed 3D mod-els,and then uses software for point cloud slicing and sampling methods to extract and visualize the bul-ging disease characteristics of the ancient city walls in Shouxian.Using this method,it is found that the bulging areas of the ancient city wall in Shouxian are mainly concentrated at the top of the wall,and all the protrusions are the result of expanding downwards from the top.The conclusion is that this method can accurately reflect the actual situation of bulging on the ancient city walls of Shouxian.Research has shown that this method provides an effective means for detecting diseases in ancient buildings and has the potential to be widely applied to other types of walls.
