Dream narrative is one of the most important narrative methods in Chinese classical novels,which plays an impor-tant role in the construction of the story plot.With the development and change of media technology and market orientation,network novels as the continuation of classical novels in the contemporary era,have carried on a selective inheritance and innovation of the dream narrative techniques in classical novels.On the basis of the function of narrative cycle and retrospection of dream in classical novels,network novels have carried out multi-angle innovation in the aspects of narrative perspective and covered content.While diluting the educative function of dream narrative in classical novels,it amplifies the plot assisting function of dream narrative in contemporary network novels,thus completing a breakthrough innovation in dream narrative techniques from the aspects of dream construction mode and dream expression form.
