The exchange and interaction in international relations often takes place a relation of dialogue.Cognition,knowledge,and power,among others,are displayed in the discourse structure,and the interaction between discourse and power gives rise to the concept of international discourse power.Discourse is both content and tool.The discourse of"Thucydides trap"proposed by American scholars has had an important impact on international communication.By analyzing its historical origin,theoretical logic and practical influence,this paper proposes that the domestic cognition of the"Thucydides trap"discourse has gone from the passive and unconscious stage to that of discriminate reception and independent thinking.The construction of international discourse power in China is in a critical period of discourse power transformation.To address"Thucydides trap"and to enhance China's discourse power in international stage,Xi Jinping proposes a new type of theory on international relationship,which will play a constructive role in dissolving western countries'hegemony in discourse and the enchantment caused thereby while uplifting China's discourse power worldwide.
