As a theoretical doctrine, political program, and social movement,American evangelical nationalism has the connotations of general nationalism as well a distinctive"American imprint",revealing the theological color of Biblical authority, the racism of white supremacy, the identity politics of extreme exclusivity, the grassroots characteristics of populism, the conservative values of tradition, and the unilateralism of American primacy. The rise of U.S.evangelical nationalism has had a far-reaching impact on U.S.domestic and foreign affairs and even on the direction of the world politics.Against the background of accelerated evolution of the current century of changes and the resurgence of racialism and nationalism in the west,a systematic analysis and exposition of the history, connotation and characteristics of American evangelical nationalism can not only theoretically enrich and extend its academic research system. It is also the key to grasping the direction of the U.S.future politics. Therefore,it is important to draw on the experience or lessons from the construction of the American nation-state and to guard against the risks and challenges caused by the spillover of evangelical nationalism.
