Research on Promoting the Development of Great Wall Culture in Ethnic Border Areas in the New Era—A Case Study of the Ulanqab Great Wall
Ethnic border areas possess rich Great Wall resources.Over more than two thousand years, the Great Wall has witnessed the history of interactions, exchanges, and integration among various ethnic groups, evolving from its initial role as a military fortification to becoming a significant zone for economic and cultural exchange. To revitalize the Great Wall culture in the new era and explore development paths for Great Wall culture in ethnic border areas, this study uses the Ulanqab Great Wall as a case.Based on the current distribution of Great Wall resources and the overall tourism planning of Ulanqab, three development paths are proposed:the planning of linear tourism routes along the Ming Great Wall, the tourism planning of sig-nificant sections of the Zhao Bei Great Wall,Qin and Han Great Wall,Northern Wei Great Wall, and Jin Jie Hao,and the planning and construction of a Great Wall exhibition hall in the central urban area.
