The Influence of Language Transfer in English Reading
In learning a foreign language, the learners＇mother tongue or the tirst language （LI） would inevitably inlluence its learning. The influence of the L1 is called language transfer in linguistic research. And there are two kinds of transfer： positive transfer and negative transfer. The former can promote the learning process while the latter hinders it. This paper points out the influence of language transfer in English reading from these two aspects and proposes suggestions on how to deal with Chinese negative transfer and study English with efficiency.
