Vocabulary teaching is the basis of language teaching. Taking chunks as the unit of vocabulary learning and teaching is not only in accordance with cognitive pattern, but also helpful to students＇ English competence. On the basis of chunk theory, this paper expounds the implications from the chunks teaching to vocabulary teaching methods in middle school in order to improve the effectiveness of vocabulary teaching in middle schools.
