A Flexible Compensation-based Approach for Detecting Single-phase Grounding Faults Using an Arc Suppression Coil
In power system,single-phase grounding fault is a common type of fault.Due to the shortcomings of traditional line selection methods, such as low accuracy and high misjudgment rate,it is difficult to meet the operation needs of modern power system. Therefore,a novel method for identifying single-phase grounding fault lines is presented, utilizing the arc suppression coil's adaptive compensation capabilities.Firstly, the design of the method is studied. Then, the model of this method is constructed in matrix laboratory simulation platform. Finally, the results of the constructed model are analyzed. The experimental results show that when the proposed line selection method is adopted and the resistance is set to 1 300 Ω,the fault current keeps below 10 A with the increase of time, and the maximum current is only 8 A,which meets the safety requirements of power system. It can be seen that the proposed single-phase grounding fault line selection method based on the flexible compensation strategy of arc suppression coil is an efficient and reliable line selection method, which has important theoretical significance and practical value.
