Development and Application of Constant Rolling Force Control in Hot Rolling of Aluminum Alloy Composite Ingots
Aluminum alloy composite materials have the characteristics of high added value and excellent performance, and have been widely used in the aerospace and automotive manufacturing industries. The successful rolling of aluminum alloy composite materials requires certain process techniques, and one of the key factors is to evenly discharge the bubbles between different coating layers in the first few passes of rough rolling,to avoid peeling of the plate surface due to residual bubbles between the coating layers. The relevant control functions and algorithms of the original automation system were introduced.Based on a full understanding of these functional algorithms, the automatic control functions of constant rolling force and constant roll gap of the hot roughing mill were developed and applied. The coordination between the horizontal movement of the ingot and the vertical variation of the roll gap was also achieved,so that the panel and cladding layer could obtain a uniform thickness ratio and uniform distribution under the current roll type.According to the characteristics of composite rolling of aluminum clad plates,it is necessary to perform two constant rolling force static pressures from the middle of the composite ingot length as the boundary. The maximum compaction force can be set on the operation interface. After setting the parameters, the roll gap will be adjusted according to the set rolling force to achieve automatic rolling at a constant speed from any position of the ingot. The process of uniformly eliminating bubbles has been achieved in a fully automated manner, improving production efficiency. The actual application effect shows that the application of this function has a very effective improvement effect on panel folding and dry rolling exhaust during composite plate rolling.
