From autonomy to consciousness:the knowledge value shift of higher education research
Research in the humanities and social sciences aims to form value concepts and shape cognitive frameworks.As a key component of national innovation strength,constructing an independent system of social science knowledge is crucial for grasping social development trends and forming unique explanations for local social issues.In recent years,China has proposed building an independent knowledge system in social sciences for two reasons:on one hand,the control over knowledge value stems from humanity's instinct to dominate;on the other hand,social science theories from developed countries may no longer be applicable when explaining social phenomena in developing countries.Therefore,given the uniqueness of China's higher education development,China need to establish a specialized analytical framework and form an effective theoretical explanatory system.The independent knowledge system that higher education research institutes aim to build should be based on the rational and practical narrative of modernizing Chinese higher education,with the ultimate goal of achieving"theoretical awareness",which means forming a sense of autonomy in the development theory of Chinese higher education.It requires reflective practice to redefine the sources of problems in higher education research.Promoting academic research to focus on local issues and move towards"consciousness"should be the starting point for building an independent knowledge system for Chinese higher education.
