The realization of the classified development of higher education is the prerequisite for the construction of a powerful education country,and the classified development of provincial higher education bears the main responsibility for the construction of an educational power.The study relies on the theory of coopetition and proposes a practical path for the development of provincial higher education classifications from the perspective of coopetition in view of the problems of the solidification of classification standards,insufficient cooperation and linkage,imbalanced construction of classification goals,and insufficient cooperation concepts and actions.By constructing a multi-agent competition and cooperation ecological relationship for provincial higher education classifications,a mutually involved and symbiotic provincial university classification development subject is established,a complementary and embedded structured competition and supervision and evaluation mechanism is formed,and classification leads to the creation of mutually targeted values in order to break through the influence of path dependence and organizational habits in the traditional classification,and to contribute to the construction of world-class higher education with Chinese characteristics.
