The effective pathways to break the information cocoon and improve college students'information literacy in the era of algorithm have become a key research topic that urgently needs to be addressed in higher education.Through a grounded theory approach,semi-structured interviews were conducted with 30 college students of different educational levels and backgrounds to systematically explore the influence mechanisms of the information cocoon on college students'information literacy.The results showed that when college students were trapped in the information cocoon,their information literacy dimensions were affected to varying degrees.On one hand,the information cocoon,facilitated by information technology,directly influences college students'information literacy.On the other hand,the impact of the information cocoon"equipped"by information technology,exerts an indirect influence on college students'information literacy through the intermediary of informational driving force.In this process,both subject-driven motivation and informational context further adjust the impact of the information cocoon on college students'information literacy by modifying individual motivation intensity and environmental perception intensity,respectively.The government,society,universities and college students should attach importance to expanding information vision from the level of information knowledge,sharpening information sensitivity from the level of information consciousness,optimizing digital skills from the level of information ability,and standardizing information behavior from the level of information ethics,so as to comprehensively improve the information literacy of college students.
